What types of companies can be formed in Portugal?

How many directors does a Portuguese Limited Company (Lda) require?
Only one.
How many shareholders does a Portugal Public Company (S.A.) company have to have?
At least five.
How much capital is required to start a Portuguese company?
Public companies (S.A.) require a minimum share capital of €50,000. The accounting and auditing requirements for these companies are quite strict.
Ldas used to have a minimum share capital requirement of €5,000 but this is now only €1. There are no restrictions on the number of foreign shareholders and directors these companies can have, and personal liability is limited to the amount invested.
Do I need a bank account in Portugal to open a business there?
